I have been seeing thousands of posts everyday in fb, twitter regarding nirbhaya(india's daughter),rapists,male chauvinism, eve teasing and etc from many of my friends, girls, women from all over India. Its good to see their dedication, support, care, in order to back up their fellow gender. This should be appreciated, kudos my friends and sisters.
I could see much angry and frustration and helplessness when you talk about the other gender (male).I really feel ashamed and bad for my fellow gender. I can’t justify the rape which is happened already, which is unforgivable.
But just remember my dear friends and sisters, No men are born rapists. Their society, media, people around him, his friends are all playing a vital role in order to make a man rapist. These entire medium teach him about women, so you can’t just blame a man for his fault.
Rape, Assault, Eve teasing, all these things are not accidents. This shows the ugly side / mindset of men who has been fed up by our so called traditions and cultures. We have always showcase our women as weak, soft, fragile, sexy, cute, gorgeous, sweet, beauty doll who needs a man to take care.....come on...And the saddest part is even women are projecting themselves as the same.
My humble opinion is before you thrash the other gender and protest only after a cruel rape, you can bring the change slowly. You can't just change the million year mindset in a decade.
Protest when some advertisement company shows you as a fair, beautiful bride and that fairness made you more hopeful and stronger in your life. Only salable things need makeup and need to be attractive. Women are not for sale.
Protest when some movie portraits you as a sex idol or glamorous queen. Of course women are sexy, but you shouldn't allow you to tell this in a big screen where men are seeing you as an item which he can purchase in market.
Be careful, Behave properly, Act as a girl, don't com petite with men in all fields ....you really need to oppose this when any person tell these words.
Don't just protest if some person accuses you for wearing short clothes and lousy makeup. Just realize the inner meaning of it. If you say You need to be sexy or cute, the obvious question will be arise as "for whom?".Don't showcase you for the other gender. You just need to be neat and decent.
Don't use the feminism as advantage in any small issue. Be perfect, be honest, and be straight forward. Because these little issues instigate men to see you different and he starts to hate female.
Be independent. Think and do things for you. As long as you love a man whom your father chooses, you can’t even imagine for a change. Don't let anyone restrict or customize you for their perspective.
It’s better to take a step forward than just crying and complaining.
